Chocolate covered pretzels
something horseshoe shaped (food)
homemade flavored vodka
popcorn bar
I might end up doing a couple of different things.
UPDATE: Chocolate covered pretzels. Although the flavored vodka is for sure a project for later! Mom and my sister came up and helped make the pretzels. I bought 3 tubs of Utz pretzel sticks from Sams, for around $4 each. I wanted to do 3 pretzel sticks per person, and it turns out I got about 150 per tub, so I don't actually need the third. (It'll just go to the hospitality suite for snacks.)
I melted chocolate bark in a double boiler with a little Crisco. Take your time & go slow - it's easy. If the chocolate is too thick, just add a little more Crisco. And - it has to be chocolate bark/chocolate coating. No chocolate chips or baking chocolate. The bark has some parafin in it already.
Dip each pretzel rod in the chocolate, but leave enough undipped to hold onto. It also makes it easier for your guests to see what you dipped in chocolate. Put the pretzel rod on wax or parchment paper to cool/dry/setup.
Chop some white chocolate bark very finely and put into a squeeze bottle. (They're pretty cheap in the grocery - if you can't find one, melt the chocolate in a microwaveable container and use a ziplock bag with the corner snipped off or a pastry bag. But - the squeeze bottle is SO easy.) Add a little crisco to this too. Microwave for 30 seconds and stir. Repeat (adding Crisco if necessary) until the chocolate is thin enough to squeeze and smooth.
Drizzle over the cooled pretzel rods. Allow to setup for at least 2 hours before packaging.
I used cello bags from http://www.nashvillewraps.com. 2 inches wide, no gussett, by about 10 inches tall. Slip three pretzels into each bag and tie very tightly with ribbon. Add a tag if you like!
