Yummy!
We finally have a cake baker (again). We had one to start with, but the vendor decided after the fact to refuse fresh flowers on the cake, and charge extra for delivery, which wasn't in the original deal. So, we started over and have an awesome cake baker/decorator now. Her cakes are SO much better than the first baker anyway, so it turns out to be a blessing in disguise. We picked a white chocolate cake with raspberry filling & buttercream icing. Yummy! 3 layers, with ribbon around the bottom of each layer. Bottom and top layer will have a quilting pattern, and the center layer will be swirls.
Instead of a groom's cake, we're going to have a variety of mini canoli's. I have searched high and low for a canoli maker in Kentucky that would satisfy Bostonian FI, and have failed miserably. Until I told our chef at the venue - and he made some for us to try. FI approves. WOO-HOO! Massive stressful search OVER!

Cake Stand
I really want one of these cake stands, but I am not going to pay $175 for one. I'm going to attempt to make it myself.
